Varsity Head Coach
Head Coach Nick Plaisted is a native of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he played football and lacrosse for Socastee High School and graduated in 2005. He played college lacrosse and was a senior captain at Presbyterian College. He graduated in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in History. He became the assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Spartanburg High School Boy’s Lacrosse team in the fall of 2009. He has received his Masters from Converse in 2014 (M.E.d. in Natural Science). In the summer of 2013 he was named the Head Boy’s Lacrosse coach at Spartanburg High School and was named the 2014 Herald Journal Boy’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
Assistant coach/JV Head Coach
Coach Stephyn Eaton is entering his fourth year as the Head JV Boy's Lacrosse coach for the Vikings this season. Prior to graduating from the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Coastal Carolina University in 2012, Coach Eaton served five years in the United States Marine Corps in which he earned the rank of Sergeant and deployed twice. His involvement with lacrosse began at Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, where he spent one season as an assistant on the boy’s lacrosse team in 2012.
Coach Richard Taylor is a Spartanburg High School Alumnus. He ran cross country, track, and played lacrosse for the Spartanburg's inaugural program. Richard went on to run cross country and play lacrosse at Presbyterian College. In 2014 Richard Commissioned into the SC Army National Guard and Graduated from PC with Degrees in History, Chinese, and Military Science. After graduation, he served as the head coach of the Varsity and JV programs at Woodmont High School and also coached various club programs in the Greenville area before returning to the Vikings last season. In addition to his duties as the Offensive Coordinator at Spartanburg, Coach Taylor is also a 1st Lieutenant in the SC National Guard serving as a Tank Commander and Executive Officer in an Armor Company. He also works full time in the Aerospace industry.
Coach Drew Flemming is originally from Tacoma, WA where he played football and lacrosse, earning All-State honors his senior year as a defenseman for the Curtis Vikings. After graduating in 2005, he went on to play lacrosse at the University of Washington as a four-year starter and senior captain. He graduated UW in 2009 with a BA in English Literature and Political Economics and commissioned into the US Army as a 2nd LT. Coach Flemming served 4 years on active duty and another 4 years in the Reserves, deploying twice to Afghanistan and Eastern Africa and earning the rank of Captain. Coach Flemming is currently a second-year medical student at VCOM in Spartanburg, and works as an assistant defense coach with the Spartanburg High School Boy's Lacrosse team.
Coach Burnett is a recent graduate of Spartanburg High School. Coach Burnett played attack for the Vikings and is currently enrolled at USC Upstate.
